Sunday + a deck of cards
The weekly planner that doesn't guilt‑trip you.
Every to‑do app does the same thing at midnight: it shovels today's unfinished tasks onto tomorrow. By Thursday your day opens with a wall of carried‑over failures. By week three you've stopped opening the app.
Sundeck is built on the opposite rule. A task you didn't finish doesn't follow you to tomorrow — it quietly returns to the pool. Every task on today's page is there because you chose it, this week, on purpose.

The mechanic
Return‑to‑pool, not rollover.
This is the one idea the whole app is built on, and no shipping planner does it — TeuxDeux, Tweek and Sunsama all roll forward. Watch what that difference does to a single week.
By Thursday, nine of those twelve are things you already failed at. That's the wall.
The backlog absorbs the misses, not your morning. Days stay honest.
What didn't happen doesn't chase you.
The ritual
Sunday is a first‑class part of the app.
Not a habit you maintain by hand — a built‑in reset. You deal your backlog like a deck of cards: this day, that day, back in the pool, delete. One card at a time, no grid to wrestle with.
It ends on a single screen — the shape of the week you just built, before you live it. And if you skip Sunday entirely, a three‑minute morning rescue keeps the day usable. The ritual is the point, but it isn't a punishment.
- 1
Deal the deck
Every open task, one card at a time. Four choices, no fields to fill in.
- 2
The repeat offenders come first
Tasks you've deferred most are at the top of the deck, asking the honest question.
- 3
See the week you built
Seven days, side by side, before Monday happens to you.
Deferral honesty
Your task list becomes data about you.
The app counts every time you consciously chose a task and then didn't do it. Not to scold you — it never nags, never badges, never turns anything red. It just puts the thing you've dodged nine times at the top of Sunday's deck.
Nine times isn't a failure. It's information: this task is mis‑scoped, or it isn't actually yours, or it's been done in your head and never crossed off. The number asks the question. You answer it.
The rest of it
Small decisions, made in your favour.
The day ends at 4am
Work at 00:30 counts for the evening it belongs to. Night owls are first‑class citizens here, not an edge case.
Capture with zero decisions
Lock screen → one text field → in the pool. No date picker, no list picker, no priority dropdown. Decisions happen at the reset, where they belong.
Projects are just pages
A page per project, in Markdown, with its tasks and notes together. Assign a task to a project and it still flows through your week like everything else.
A quiet Done section
What you actually finished today, this week, this month, this year. The one place the app is happy to keep score.
Local‑first, genuinely
Opens in under a second and works fully offline, because the database is on your device — not a cache of someone else's. Syncs to your phone and desktop when there's a connection.
Your data stays exportable
It lives on your device and comes out in a format you can read. Leaving should never be the hard part.
Who it's for
People who think in weeks, not in inboxes.
- Notion‑template refugees — you built the perfect weekly dashboard, and now it takes six seconds to open and capture is a chore.
- Bullet‑journal people — you want the ritual without transcribing yesterday's misses by hand every single morning.
- Anyone already running a weekly reset — and fighting a tool that was designed around the day instead.
Plan on Sunday. Live your week.
Nothing snowballs.
